Summer 2012

At the beginning of the summer we were feeling a bit ambitious & came up with our 'Everything We Need to Stuff into our Summer' Activity List:

We did not complete the entire list but we gave it our best shot.

SWIMMING: Check

Loved the Auqatic Center in Cedar City with cousins. Keller even conquered the hydrotube slide by the end of the summer. In his words he was the 'perfect size'. 

TOUR PETCO PARK: Done

Thank you Jr. Padres for the hook-up.

RIDE A 2 WHEEL BIKE: Not Complete

Keller has little interest in his bike & starts a complaining storm when we mention the training wheels coming off. Not ready to fight this battle quite yet.

GO TO BELMONT PARK: Checkmark

Old school amusement park fun in Ocean Beach.

 

GO TO A DRIVE-IN: Yet to Complete

RIDE A FERRY to CORONADO: Loved it!

Took a field trip with Keller, me & Grandma. Quick ride with great views. 

HAVE ICECREAM for DINNER: Yes

Had to start the first day of summer off correctly.

SET-UP/PLAY in SPLASH POOL: Check

Many hours of entertainment for Keller & friends.

GO TO THE BEACH: Many times
We frequent Torrey Pines because its closest. We've also been to La Jolla Shores & South Carlsbad. Bought a State Park Pass in the spring & have gotten our monies worth. Always dreamed about living by the ocean. Keller has also become quite a boogie-boarder.

PLAY TENNIS: Check

WATCH A MOVIE on the BIG SCREEN in the BACKYARD: Not complete
Broken projector. 

GO CAMPING at the BEACH: Yes
New family tradition?

HAVE A PRACTICE KINDEGARTEN DAY: A+
Had our friend Hailey over this spring. Hailey invited Keller over this summer. They were prepped well for kinder-land.

EAT AT A FOOD TRUCK: Delicious!

RIDE BIKES at the BEACH: Check

HIKE at TORREY PINES: Yet to be done

EAT OTTER POPS: Many times

GO to PANGUITCH BALLOON FESTIVAL: Check

GO to SAN DIEGO FAIR: So fun!

RIDE a TRAIN: Yes.
Rode the Coaster to Oceanside. 

MAKE A GREAT FORT to WATCH a MOVIE: Done
One of our favorite family movies -- The Sandlot

GO BOWLING: Once
Bought a pass for the whole summer & used it once. 

We had a great, jam-packed summer. I felt some pressure to make it the busiest & most fun summer yet because we had Chad at home a lot & it was the last summer of freedom before Keller started school. I think we accomplished our goal. I also think I need a nap....
