A to Z - AZ 2008 - Weekend with the Fam

Every fall I have a few college fairs across the state of Arizona - from Tucson [south] to Flagstaff [north]. The last few years we have made it a family affair and hit the road all together. We headed out last weekend and spent the first few days with our friends, the Ehmke's. [Chad & Josh were MTC mission companions.]

They hooked us up with tickets to the Arizona Diamondbacks game on Friday night. Great seats and excellent food at my favorite Chick-Fil-A. [No Chick-Fil-A's in Nevada. Weird, right?] We spent the rest of the weekend laughing with the Ehmke's and watching the kids learn to play nice together. Thank you for the hospitality!

Chad, Kel & I made sure to make it to Ikea [once again - not in Nevada] and our favorite Arizona Mills, a huge outlet mall. Kel got to 'drive' his stroller......
We also managed to hit another restaurant from Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. If you are a frequent Marchant Adventures blog reader, you will remember we were slightly disappointed by our experience at the White Palace Grill in Chicago. Chino Bandido in Chandler, AZ has redeemed our faith in 'Triple D' [Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives]. It is located in a strip mall and combines Mexican, Chinese & Cuban food in a mix-and-match menu. You choose from about 20 different types of meat and make a combo by choosing make a rice bowl, burrito or quesadilla. We highly recommend the chili rellenos, red jade chicken & machaca. Two thumbs up from the Marchant's.
Guy, who hosts Triple D, leaves a poster at each location.
Two thumbs up from Chad & Kel

Kel & Chad flew back to Las Vegas last Monday and I set off to cover the state at 4 college fairs in 4 days.

Next time my husband has a craving for Chile rellenos- we'll have to head west...I actualy tried making them tonight. They were so hot Ben couldn't eat them- if Ben can't eat it- I'm not even going to try it. I guess New Mexico Green chiles aren't what you're supposed to make rellenos out of. who knew?
