Papa D in S.D.

Papa D came for a visit over President's Day Weekend. We kept him busy, busy, busy with lots of San Diego family fun.

We hosted the 2014 Dzwoniarek Open [Mini Golf Tournament]:

Keller amazed by his hole-in-one.
Keller managed to top Papa D in the tournament.

Keller also got to get into the batting cage:

We were also able to head down to Petco Park & take the official behind-the-scenes Padres Tour:
The Opening Day Line-Up of the Padre's 1st Season

This is the Welcome Desk of the Lexus Home Plate Club - An official & exclusive $40,000 buy-in clubhouse with a wine cellar, meeting rooms & top-notch restaurant with seats that look onto the Padres Batting Cage.

We also headed south to see the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. This is an official training center for several U.S. Olympic teams including rugby, BMX, rowing & field hockey.

You are able to walk around the grounds on a self-guided tour & see several of the fields:

The day we were visiting a scrimmage game was held between the New Zealand Women's Field Hockey vs. the U.S. Women's team. None of us knew A THING about field hockey but we ended up sitting next to a coach & former ref who gave us all the tricks for watching the game. It was beautiful day....We could watch the BMX bikes in the background....Why not learn about a new sport? We ended up watching for nearly an hour.

We were also able to visit our favorite Phil's BBQ, go see The Lego Movie & sent Kel & Papa out to the local donut shop @ 6AM since they are both such early risers. It was a joy to have Papa D visit & I think we sent him home tired from all the fun.
