The Mormons....they love their Batallion in Old Town San Diego.
It's actually a great place to visit - a little walk-thru program with great videos & history of the Mormon Batallion which helped establish San Diego in the mid-1800's. The kids especially love the panning for gold & water well at the end of the show.
Each January a big celebration is held in Old Town State Park where those crazy Mormons don their favorite prairie dress & hold a living history with games, food & music. It was a great way to spend a Saturday. [By the way -- It was 70 degrees....in January....Quite near perfect weather!]
